About the minicourse
Following a lecture on Potting et al’s ‘9R Circularity Strategies’ — refuse, rethink, reduce, reuse, repair, refurnish, remanufacture, repurpose, recycle, recover — this workshop will challenge participants to apply a selection of these strategies in specific product categories, such as furniture, packaging, consumer products, etc.

Prof. Dr. Mariano Ramirez
Austrália – University of New South Wales

An active researcher and lecturer in sustainability aspects of industrial design, Dr Mariano Ramírez has authored over 60 publications in his area of expertise. His research has been presented in over 30 conferences globally. He held Visiting Academic roles in universities in China, India, Mexico, Hong Kong, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Korea, and the Philippines, and is a Higher Degree Examiner in five Australian universities. He sits on the Editorial Board of the MDPI journal ‘Sustainability’. He has regularly contributed to various international academic journals and conferences on sustainable innovations as author and as scientific committee reviewer. His research projects encompass the integration of environmental and social sustainability aspects in industrial design education and practice, enabling sustainable consumption behaviors through product design, and using product design as a tool for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
